I spent a good hour trying to explain to a rep that my daughter needed the links that were referred to in her text. Her school had put the text on blackboard, but not a link to the supplemental material.

She desperately needed the material because she is dyslexic. The rep talked in circles for an hour before getting her supervisor to talk to me. He asked for a screen shot of her blackboard. I had to log onto her computer to get it.

She had given up and gone to bed. While I was doing this, he hung up on me. Incredibly discouraged, my daughter dropped out of school. Thanks Pearson.

Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:42:28 PM): Hi, my name is Ann Melody. How may I help you? Me (1/23/2017, 11:42:45 PM): Hi, my name is Laura Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:42:56 PM): Hello Laura. Me (1/23/2017, 11:43:29 PM): I am contacting you in an effort to help my daughter.

She is dyslexic, so would have a very hard time writing this herself. Me (1/23/2017, 11:43:45 PM): She is taking a college history class. Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:44:03 PM): Thank you for the information. Me (1/23/2017, 11:44:09 PM): The class does not have access to Myhistorylab.

Me (1/23/2017, 11:45:36 PM): Does the lab include The History of World Civilizations (Craig) and if so, can she access it somehow? Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:46:09 PM): Thank you for the information. I'd be more than happy to check that for you. Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:46:17 PM): May I have the user name?

Me (1/23/2017, 11:47:03 PM): She doesn't have a user name. As I said, her class is on Blackboard and they do not have access to Myhistorylab. Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:48:11 PM): Does she have an account here in Pearson? Me (1/23/2017, 11:48:18 PM): No Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:49:00 PM): All she need to do is click the link that her instructor provided.

Me (1/23/2017, 11:49:15 PM): Her instructor did not provide a link Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:49:22 PM): needs* Me (1/23/2017, 11:49:32 PM): Her class does not have access to Myhistorylab Me (1/23/2017, 11:49:48 PM): Not just her. The whole class. There is no link. Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:50:35 PM): Because if it is through Blackboard, they have the link that will route them to access the course.

Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:50:46 PM): And give them the steps on how. Me (1/23/2017, 11:50:46 PM): No. They don't. Me (1/23/2017, 11:50:50 PM): No Me (1/23/2017, 11:50:57 PM): I already saw the steps Me (1/23/2017, 11:51:08 PM): I looked at the video on your site Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:51:09 PM): They have to contact their instructor.

Me (1/23/2017, 11:51:20 PM): The link does not exist in her blackboard Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:51:27 PM): May I have the link, please? Me (1/23/2017, 11:51:39 PM): Does MyHistorylab include her book? Me (1/23/2017, 11:51:48 PM): That is what I am asking you. Me (1/23/2017, 11:52:11 PM): If not are there older audio files from previous editions that she can access somewhere?

Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:52:53 PM): Let me double check here. Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:53:04 PM): Please bear with me. Me (1/23/2017, 11:53:12 PM): Ok, thanks. Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:53:19 PM): One moment.

Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:54:34 PM): Does she have a course ID? Me (1/23/2017, 11:56:28 PM): As I have explained, no. There is no course id because they are not connected to MyHistorylab. The name of her book is "The History of World Civilizations" authors Craig et al.

Please check to see if there are supplemental materials for this book on MyHistorylab Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:56:57 PM): Thank you. Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:57:48 PM): But she can access through Blackboard? Me (1/23/2017, 11:57:55 PM): No Me (1/23/2017, 11:58:18 PM): There is no link on Blackboard for MyHistorylab Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:58:37 PM): So, means she doesn't have an account on Blackboard? Me (1/23/2017, 11:59:19 PM): Yes, her class in on Blackboard, but there is no link on Blackboard to MyHistorylab Ann Melody G (1/23/2017, 11:59:31 PM): Thank you.

Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:01:23 AM): I'm still checking my resources on here. Me (1/24/2017, 12:01:39 AM): Thank you. Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:02:22 AM): Hello Laura. Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:02:34 AM): Thank you for waiting.

Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:04:24 AM): Upon checking my resources here, I would suggest to contact the Admins of the School of your daughter. And let them know that there's no uploaded link for the MyHistory on Blackboard. Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:06:13 AM): The school admins has all the information for the courses. Me (1/24/2017, 12:06:16 AM): Do they have to pay extra for the link?

If so, I don't think that will happen. Is there a way she *** connect if I pay for it? I will, but need to know that the materials relevant to her book are there. Not all books are connected according to what I have seen on your site.

Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:07:52 AM): No need to pay for the link. Only the school admins can answer all the questions because we only have limited resources here. Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:08:08 AM): They upload the link that your daughter needs. Me (1/24/2017, 12:08:42 AM): don't know if the materials are included on your site?

If you don't know, I doubt that her school would have that information. Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:09:18 AM): They have the information for that because they are uploading the link for the course. Me (1/24/2017, 12:09:45 AM): Except that they DIDN'T upload the link. Me (1/24/2017, 12:09:54 AM): That is what I keep telling you.

Me (1/24/2017, 12:10:52 AM): They did not upload a link for MyHistorylab, just the Blackboard for their instructors tests and (limited) resources. Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:11:00 AM): I can see the book here on our Pearson Store, The History of World Civilizations" authors Craig et al. Me (1/24/2017, 12:12:24 AM): Yes, I know it's at the store. I want to know if it is on MyHistorylab.

There are references in the book to documents and audio files that can be viewed there, but when I tried to buy a link, the book did not come up as being included in the lab. Me (1/24/2017, 12:14:12 AM): If it is not there, is there someplace she can get audio files from the book? Does anyone there understand learning differences? If so, perhaps I could speak to them.

Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:19:28 AM): I understand your concern. However, I would like you to verify if the course that your daughter will be taking is link to Blackboard or directly with MyHistoryLab. And on this note, the instructor will be the best person to contact. Me (1/24/2017, 12:20:45 AM): I just told you several times that it isn't.

I'm sure her instructor knows that. If the college has to pay extra for the link, they didn't buy it. What else do you think he will tell me? Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:21:59 AM): Again, for Blackboard link courses, the school provides an account to each student wherein the course is already there.

Once you have access the Blackboard account, you have to click on the course and register or create your Pearson account. Afterwards, you'll be asked to purchase or enter your access code. Me (1/24/2017, 12:22:09 AM): Is there some mysterious reason that you can't even tell me if the materials are still connected to MyHistorylab??? Me (1/24/2017, 12:22:31 AM): There is NO LINK on Blackboard!!!

Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:22:43 AM): Now, for courses that are not linked to blackboard, you have to register directly to MyHistoryLab and register for your course. Me (1/24/2017, 12:22:49 AM): I have told you this at least 10 times now! Me (1/24/2017, 12:23:27 AM): She can't because her class is on Blackboard, but there is NO LINK to MYHISTORYLAB Me (1/24/2017, 12:23:42 AM): I need to speak to someone who can actually listen to me. Me (1/24/2017, 12:23:50 AM): Who is your supervisor?

Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:24:26 AM): Hi. This is Jhan. One of the supervisor here on Pearson. Me (1/24/2017, 12:24:40 AM): Ok Me (1/24/2017, 12:25:04 AM): I am trying to help my dyslexic daughter get access to MyHistorylab Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:25:07 AM): How may I help?

I'm actually checking this case. Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:25:15 AM): Alright. Me (1/24/2017, 12:25:37 AM): Her class is on Blackboard. There is no I have repeated ad nauseum.

Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:26:36 AM): Can you send me a screenshot of your Blackboard account? Me (1/24/2017, 12:27:50 AM): Unfortunately, no. I am on a different computer now and my daughter has given up and gone to bed. I don't think I can access her Blackboard.

Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:28:26 AM): I understand. However, I would like to check it if possible for me to see if this case will be transferred to our higher level of support. Me (1/24/2017, 12:28:43 AM): You will simply have to believe that I spent quite some time looking through it. Following the directions on your site to find a link and it did not exist on her Blackboard.

Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:28:54 AM): I thank you for your patience. Me (1/24/2017, 12:29:04 AM): In the tools section on the left, there was no link. Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:29:22 AM): That is what I'm wondering as well. If the course is really link to Blackboard, the link should be there.

Me (1/24/2017, 12:29:35 AM): Nor was there one anywhere else. Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:29:57 AM): That's why again, I'd like to ask for the screenshot. Because we don't have access to Third Party site which is Blackboard. Me (1/24/2017, 12:30:11 AM): I understand.

Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:31:04 AM): We can support Pearson concerns, but aside from that I mean regarding the links on the Blackboard, we don't have access to it. Me (1/24/2017, 12:31:05 AM): Just a minute, I will see if I can access her Blackboard, or if it is still up on her computer, I'll take a screenshot and email it to myself. Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:31:18 AM): That's great. Thank you.

Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:34:23 AM): Are you still there? Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:36:43 AM): I have not received a response from you for some time. Would you like me to keep this chat window open for you? Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:38:42 AM): Since I have not heard from you yet, I will now close this chat.

Please feel free to chat with us again if we can be of further assistance. Ann Melody G (1/24/2017, 12:38:58 AM): Thank you for contacting Pearson Education and have a great day!
