Terrible customer service, difficult to buy school books from

I ordered student book editions several times. First off all I have to call as there is no on-line order platform that contains the school books my children use in class. Difficult access and difficult to order the most rudimentary tool kids need for school. Delivery times are 7-10 working days far above any decent competitive book seller, and delivery is not free for a up-to 10 days surface mail. I don't get any invoice or statement documentation/receipt. Would this not be standard to expect as a customer? One time my books did not arrive after 10 business days. I called and got told to call again if books do not arrive. Customer service did not want to check up on any reason for delay or give me a definite delivery day. Only when asking several times to look into reason, the customer service person did finally an investigation and told me the payment could not be processed hence no delivery. I got no notification, again this should be standard to have an e-mail dispatched saying please call as the payment was unsuccessful.... Turns out that the payment should have been processed but there system has a glitch. Why would any business not try to follow up on any sales to be missed because of systems problem? To me such company is chosen by the government to supply schoolbooks and has an exclusivity and has no reason to be up-to scratch. And seeing all the comments about the quality of their educational books?!

Pearson Education - HORRIBLE SMARTBOOK QUESTIONS
WHAT. How am I even supposed to answer this question? Horrible question, awkward responses, and terribly put together program. I can't believe I paid this much for a program that doesn't even make sense. Their textbook makes about as much sense as their question does....

Glitch programs, site outages, poor customer service

I've been using Pearson Labs for on-line college for 3 years now and have had errors on test materials, drop down boxes on tests or cells in tests that won't respond to mouse clicks. I have also had numerous site outages for as long as a day. Finally, customer service is never really able to assist you and claims you need to go back to your institution of higher learning to get a fix. Meanwhile your college says you must work out the issue with Pearson! It also took 3 hours this evening just to get an on-line tech to chat. At one point, I was 1389th in the ***! Lousy product, lousy service.

Can't even sign in and I have a test due

This website just crashed and I have test due. This isn't the first time as the exact same thing happened last quarter. Why do instructors keep using Pearson labs? Not only does it continually mark right answers as wrong or switch around your answer and mark it wrong but the website crashed at least once per week. Not only that they advertise "contact our 24x7 customer service" THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. You cannot reach them no matter how hard you freaking try. There's a petition calling for professors not to use their product and I'm going to be signing up for it.

Absolute and complete failure please do not use

The website is constantly CONSTANTLY down, claiming "authentication failure,". Far too expensive for the large amount of issues. Pearson provides little to no customer service, and the waiting time for an online chat is on average 45 minutes. The system is not an efficient one. I spent over $200 and can assure you I did not get my moneys worth. My professors are fed up with their horrible and complete lack of responsibility. I am begging you not to purchase any type of software from Pearson, I can assure you that down the line you will come to regret it.

I have 3 assignments due and suddenly: "There is a problem with your authentication, possibly due to inactivity. For your safety, you have been logged out and must sign in again to continue." No chat, no phone number, no nothing. 5 minutes ago I had an A in this class - now I have a C. If assignments are due daily, then the site should operate daily. This platform will cost your students their grades and there won't be anything you can do about it. My professor is so frustrated with them she could just scream. Don't use this product!

Outdated encryption for textbook servers

When I logged on to https://sso.rumba.pearsoncmg.com/sso/login?profile=snp&k12int=true&service=https://www.pearsonsuccessnet.com:443/snpapp/login/login.jsp , I got an alert from Google Chrome saying that it is using obsolete cryptography. I am very concerned about my privacy, especially considering the recent news about insecure websites. If this isn't fixed, hackers could find out passwords in a snap. In fact, there could be a breach already. Please fix this so that there is no possibility of students loosing their passwords. Upon logging in to Pearson MyLab, the error message "There is a problem with your authentication, possibly due to inactivity. For your safety, you have been logged out and must sign in again to continue." persists. I am unable to reach customer support through their toll-free number as well as through their "live-chat". I understand that they are most likely overwhelmed with users attempting to access their content, but seeing as it is final exam time for myself and many other University students, it is pathetic that their support system is unable to handle this issue. I will not be purchasing ANY Pearson products in the future.

HOW DARE YOU!

How dare you create state tests that are above the developmental level of the children you are testing? I am a 3rd grade teacher in a district that is performing well. Even my brightest students struggle with these tests. I am speaking now of the ELA test. The wording of some of the questions is ridiculous. In the writing portions, many children can articulate and substantiate their thoughts with the "oh so powerful" text evidence you demand, and yet if it is not the interpretation your company considers "correct," they fail the question. There can be more than one interpretation a reader derives after reading a passage. I'm just so angry with the difficulty level of these tests. My students worked hard this year to grow as readers and writers and yet this ONE TEST (which is ridiculously hard) will not allow that to be shown. And…. I can be deemed an ineffective teacher if their scores are poor. In NY, we as teachers are fighting back against Gov. Cuomo's education reform agenda that will make 50% of our teacher evaluations based on these ridiculous tests. The positive side of this fight is that it is bringing to light how poorly designed these tests are. THAT IS A GOOD THING.

PARCC Test Bullying

1.0
Details
This test is riddled with problems, but your greedy agenda doesn't care as long as the cash keeps flowing. I am a mother of a HS Junior that was bullied (unsuccessfully) into taking your test. She was told she wouldn't graduate if she didn't take the test. She was informed that she would be punished to the fullest extent they were allowed because of her "insubordination". I've done my research, and I'm tired of the run around and the nonsense that seems to be all that's coming our way. You permit monitoring of our childrens' social media in order to keep them quiet, and that's wrong in every sense of the word. You've awakened a monster in our families. We are going to stand up and fight this.

PARCC testing and spying

My children were allowed to take the first round of PARCC testing only to save ourselves from being indirectly punished by our district and in some fashion which I'm sure to come by Pearson if they have their way. PLEASE NOTE: My children did discuss the CCRAP testing with me. I'm their parent and am bound to protect them in every way possible. Did they provide specific test questions? No. They did however discuss with me the number of typographical errors, inconsistencies in how questions were written, the unclear directions, and more important how developmentally inappropriate the level of questions were to their grade level. To be clear, my children both test far above average on the national level and attend a A+ rated district; therefore, it isn't a case of their not being educated to the proper level. My complaint is that these tests seem to be the beginning of a larger issue which is Pearson monopolizing our future. The fate of our students are being determined and defined by a UK based company. Our data including that of our children is being shared with contractors who are paid to specifically track down people that may have violated Pearson's rules of disclosure. My children aren't of the legal age in which they can enter a non-disclosure agreement and I can promise you that I received no such agreement. My complaint is Pearson a foreign owned company is being allowed to monopolize something that I and every other citizen of the US is guaranteed - the right to a free education. Pearson is aiming to eliminate public schooling and 'reform' the dumb Americans to private for profit schools. Enough profit. Go back over the pond and leave the future of our children to us. Develop your own country. Over test and under-educate your children.
