I was charged twice for a textbook and six weeks later have still not received my refund

Pearson is the most unprofessional educational publication company I have ever purchased a book from. In early june 2018, I was charged two times for an ebook and the associated access code. After bringing up the issue with the company and my bank, I was assured that this mistake would be taken care of swiftly and that I would receive my refund. After about two weeks, the money was still not returned and so I decided to pursue the issue further by continuing to call costumer service. Not only were the representatives unhelpful in their knowledge of my situation, but I was also kept on hold for the majority of the call. In fact, I am currently entering my 25th minute of being on hold to speak with a supervisor. At the end of the day I would really appreciate some answers. Why havent I gotten my money back? Why does no one know when I will get my money back? Does this billion dollar company really need 6 weeks to return $200 to a financially struggling college student? This is criminal.

Contact form doesn't work / No 24/7 support

This contact form takes information but there isn't a submit button after filling everything out. I can't even email anyone to get support nor call anyone. The 24/7 contact support doesn't exist. I have an issue with the access code because of an error in my name but I can't even confirm it -- there isn't anyone to contact, phone or contact form. Where is the number to call for help? Just pdf of instructions that doesn't assist me with my issue. I have tried to fill out the contact form but on the second page I am stuck with no submit button. I refreshed many times, changed browsers -- same action, no submit button. There isn't a phone number to call and speak with a real person.

I have tried since June 21st (it's now July 5th) to have a response to my request on how to obtain a hard or soft copy version of a required textbook. There has been no response to either my phone calls or emails. My students want to have access to this book in other than electronic or rented format, but Pearson will not respond with information on how to get this, or if that is even an option. It would be nice to get a response. Does anyone even exist with this company? I am not sure what else to say here, but apparently must produce at least 100 words. OK, is that really necessary? This just adds to my frustration.

I'm in the same situation. They sent me an email July 3rd saying they will give me my refund 7-10 days and now its July 16th and still nothing. I'm disputing the charge through my bank, did they ever give you back your money??

Unwilling to make things right.

I purchased an online access code from Pearson a little over a month ago for my summer class. I contacted them last week to complain that 75-80% of the videos were not working. I was asking for some sort of reimbursement or compensation for this issue. Seeing as 4 chapters are due per week, and I work 40 hours a week, I do not have time to go back and re-read chapters for content. I rely on the videos. When I called tech support, they tried to place the blame on my instructor. However, the message given on the video gives clear indication that it is an issue on Pearson's end. After a brief discussion that went nowhere, the issue had to be escalated to the next level of supervision. When I called today, I asked to receive a transcript of our conversation last week since it was an online "text chat support." They refused and called it "secret" information. After letting them know that it was not "secret" and that information should be made available to parties involved in the conversation, they still refused. Tech support told me that, because there was only six days left on my subscription, there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak to the supervisor. The lady I was speaking to stated that she was the highest person in rank that I was permitted to speak to on this issue. After I asked her for confirmation of the things I stated above, she said they were correct. She then proceeded to tell me that they were going to escalate my issue to another level (AKA, she was not they highest rank I could have spoken to.) In conclusion, Pearson has charged me full price for an incomplete product with no appearance of making things right, withheld proof of conversation of which I was a party and calling our conversation "secret," and lying to me about levels of authority. After reading other reviews, I am not the first person to be a victim of Pearson's customer negligence and I will, without a doubt, be the last. I have had issues with Pearson for years. I have to purchase their content for college classes. Overall, negative 5 stars.

Monetized Education leads to poor education

Where to begin? The videos for Pearson math labs are actually helpful however it's merely soft pitch; the challenging problems in the homework present much more advanced problems that really should be included in the videos. As for the cost, well, you will certainly be paying much more than what an education should cost. Sites like Khan Academy manage to provide a much better, world-class education all for free. How? donations. Companies like Pearson are simply the rich getting richer off of poor struggling young adults who are willing to work hard for a better life. Shame on you Pearson.

My mathlab keep fading away , very hard to assess at times.The program would reject the right answer,and when I changed it,it would give me the answer that it rejected. I emailed customer service,no reply as yet.

Their payment system is down, no help

My temp access expired, their payment system has been down for a week. Have called and online chatted almost everyday this week- I constantly get transferred, told there's nothing they can do, and told there is no customer relations phone number or email for me to reach out to(yeah, sure). They refuse to take CC payments over the phone or to at least extend my temporary access until their system is back up. Midterms and more assignments due next week, I'm screwed. It's all good though, since their customers essentially have no ability to shop around- so why provide customer service?
