Pearson Education - Lecture home...

Details
Last quarter, they decided to put homework titles in a tiny calendar, showing only truncated text. It took me a quarter to figure out that "Lecture home..." was not a link to the lecture material, but a link to the lecture homework, which was due on that day. The calendar showed the deadlines of the assignments, rather than the creation time of them. When I opened the homework, I already had not enough time to finish it. Besides that, it did not have any notifications, nor did it inform you of upcoming assignments via the Canvas LMS. I missed 3 homework assignments because the homework schedule was insanely hard to read. Now I am glad that they removed the calendar and put upcoming assignments in a list.

Mymathlab is just awful. It has terrible instructions and doesn't offer insightful help when you get something wrong. You can even get the right answer wrong, causing you to have to do the entire problem all over again and for those who already aren't fluent in math...

I have to use this crap. It's a headache, especially on Sunday when your isntructor probably is busy somewhere and won't answer till it's too late.

You failed to inform us as to the type and specifications of the product.

You also failed to indicate the costs involved.

We don't know what you tried to buy, what you expected, what happened other than an emotional issue over wasted telephone time.

You repeated a single word three times in a row. "horrible, horrible, horrible".

That is grammatically absurd and is never employed unless describing three different circumstances or points of order.

Have fun deleting e-mails and don't forget to keep count.

Pearson Education - Blatantly mislead by staff

The incident started with me asking how to put a triple bar into an answer on my homework. I was told that the answer did not require a triple bar. I asked her was she sure, she said yes, I am looking at the answer. I told her I was as well, right out of my Pearson textbook. She then told me that the problem in my text book was different in rather a rude manner. I had to screenshot her my question and the Pearson textbook side by side to be believed. I then asked for their regarding their policy on reporting an error in my homework. I was told, verbatim, "We don't have that". I asked who did have the policy that required me to report errors to my professor. The agent then named a department within Pearson. I called the agent on it, and they admitted that Pearson did have a policy. That question was never answered, I do not appreciate being lied to, especially when I paid for the service. I asked was there a department that I could voice my frustrations about the policy to; I have reported errors to my professor in the past, but with a workload like hers and the fact that these errors should have been caught by Pearson, I don't blame her if she didn't have time to follow through. After about 45 minutes of dodging my question, I was informed that they would NOT provide me with any type of contact information to voice my opinions on the faults in their secret policy. Its clear that Pearson has no desire to improve or grow as a company as long as they are still getting paid.

I would like to discuss the flaws in their error reporting policies. I would also like them to retrain staff on lying to/misleading a consumer about their policies and procedures.

Pearson Education - Lost study plan assignments

On Thursday, 11/6/17 my study plan assignments in My Math were almost all completed. Pearson did an update and on 11/8/17 over half of my completed assignments were suddenly incomplete. Contacted Pearson, was basically told “hate it for ya, redo the assignments, take screenshots when you complete work in the future & then MAYBE we can help.” I was also told I’m not the only person this happened to, they know there’s a glitch in the update but...meh whatever. I take 2 math classes on My Math & they are both screwed up. This company & their IT department sucks. Two fingers up, two thumbs down review.

Pearson Education - Pearson technical support for integrated Canvas/MyLab

In short, it is almost impossible to get usable customer service for integrated Canvas/MyLab courses. The MyLab products are great but the support is so bad we will have to look for replacements. It is not possible for instructors or students to reach a technical support representative on the phone who can (1) receive and use the diagnostics files and (2) access the Canvas course as well as its integrated MyLab components. The typical attempt dumps the requester to a site in the Philippines where the techs cannot understand the problem, much less help, but they insist on trying. Working through that gate usually takes at least half an hour. When they finally do agree to elevate the problem, all direct communication is lost. It eventually gets (1) misinterpreted and (2) relayed back via email. If the problem is actually fixed, it takes days, sometimes weeks.

Purchased the book thru Amazon 9780789754554. Installed the practice test software (local Windows). Successful install Attempted login - see attached. Used the contact us to register issue on 11/1/2017 no response Today, I called support 1 800 677 6337 guessing I was routed to the 3rd party call center as the CSR was extremely English-challenged after 30 minutes... sorry, but we don't handle PearsonITCert issues. Let me send you a link to use => Rec'd email with link to contact The link is the same one I used a week ago to register the initial issue. no response from that - hence the phone call this AM If no resolution in next 24 hrs, book goes back and will not use pearson products again. I've had other issues with Pearson Vue (apologies if they are not related..)
