Pearson Education in Kennewick, Washington - No weekend technical support, ridiculous scoring problems

If your account is locked, it won't tell you until you try to get back on. NO and I mean ZERO customer support unless on their work hours, no weekends, no holidays. I bought a scoring program for the Woodcock Johnson SIB and they told me that I would need Windows 7 to run it. No problem. What they DIDN'T tell me was that I would need Windows 7 Premium or Professional so I could install an emulation program so I could downgrade to XP or Vista so I could install their program. Hours of wasted time figuring that one out and finally took to a relative who was a computer specialist and they just roared at the stupidity of the thing. I finally bought an old XP machine and installed it there. I told Pearson staff and it was met with absolute silence. It cost me many hours of productivity. From now on, I go to Riverside, MHS or Hawthorne. The Stanford Binet V takes half the time of the WISC IV or V, gives a more culture-fair measure and is 100 times easier to interpret.

Pearson Education in Fullerton, California - Ripoff report!

They charge ludicrous prices for just about everything. And the school system keeps backing them up by making it mandatory for students to purchase their products. Their Textbooks cost roughly $150.00-$200.00 and the software for classes is roughly $25.00 - $50.00, sometimes upwards of up to $75.00. Totaling upwards of up to $275.00 FOR JUST ONE SEMESTER!!??!?!? You've got to be kidding me.. There are already enough fee's to pay just to enroll into our classes. Please investigate this outrageous partnership, and dismantle their disgusting exploitation of individuals trying to higher their education.
